Nissha Medical Technologies offers several different formats of medical and facility chart papers, including:

  • Strip charts: Long and narrow medical chart papers typically used for older electrocardiogram units.

  • Fanfold charts: Typically used for fetal monitors, electrocardiograms, and specialty devices.

  • Roll paper: Typically used for ECG, defibrillator, anesthesia, and vital signs monitoring.

  • Circular charts: Typically used for facility, laboratory, and refrigeration purposes.

Nissha Medical Technologies chart paper consists of multiple engineered layers designed for consistent traces, longer printhead life, and fewer jams. The layers consist of:

  • Base paper: Cellulose sheet, controls thickness, stiffness, and strength.

  • Under-coating: A precoat that smooths the surface, so the thermal layer is uniform. This helps improve print sensitivity and clarity.

  • Thermal coating: The coating contains colorless dye and developer that reacts when heated, which creates the black trace or grid on your readings.

  • Topcoat: The protective layer that prevents abrasion, oils, sweat, cleaners, plasticizers, and some chemicals from damaging the paper.

All Nissha Medical Technologies medical chart papers are thermal. Benefits of thermal chart paper include:

  • Faster and more reliable printing
  • Less expensive than traditional ink printing
  • No smudging due to ink not being required
  • Supports continuous recording and printing of real-time patient monitoring

The device’s thermal print head heats tiny spots across the width of the paper. Wherever heat hits, the dye & developer in the thermal layer melt together and turn black. This process is commonly used to record ECG tracings, fetal heart rates, and other patient monitoring data.
